and then 2014 has ended.
The whole year I wasn't able to blog just cause. I thought i lost my motivation to write, but then, I just realized that this year was a (hell) another roller coaster ride and it's worth writing.
This year, I got an offer to another company that could pay me twice of what I am earning now. but because of the sponsorship system here in the Qatar, I wasn't able to accept that offer and it was heartbreaking. It's not just about the money but also the chance to work with new people and workplace. It was the highlight of my year since i kept battling, and trying to get release. However, luck wasn't on my side this year. Regardless, I am still grateful and blessed because I am alive, breathing, earning, and being cherished by my family and friends. and It's time to give thanks to them. As my year-end tradition (well, I skipped last year cause only my Wedding was the best part of it), here is the PEOPLE OF MY YEAR 2014. #POMY2014
My wife, My confidant, my strength, My HAZEL SAHAR B. NIEVERA-BAYBAYAN
What a year it was for both of us. And it's just so amazing to have someone you can share all your thoughts with. Just by her being with me, I know that there is no problem we can't solve. It was her who becomes strong when i am weak, When i can't take it anymore, she'll pop a joke and I will be relieved. I can't live without her, I know everyone knows that. I am blessed to have a wife like her. I love her with all of my heart, and if we will need to do things we done this year again, I know we will still be holding on, stronger.
Thank you babe, my love. for always supporting my decisions and washing away my negativities. Forever and ever.
JAKE ASTER MESA
Jake was my former colleague in KCT, but even after their termination, We didn't stop our communication. Even after they left the company, I already wanted to follow them. but again, luck wasn't on my side. I kept trying but i kept losing. Whenever i felt giving up, he will give me a call and will raise up morale. I remember him saying to never lose hope. Thank you Jake, even after all the blessings you have in life, you never forget to give regards. Even if I don't know what you'll ask of me (cause i know you got all the things you needed hehe), if you need something, or someone to talk with, I'm just a viber away.
ANTAPPAN THOMAS
This year, I was assigned in the my most challenging project yet, The Sheraton Doha Renovation Project. It is a fast pace project with 16,000 manpower. The challenge was not the number people but the system itself. Our Safety Manager, is not only a new employee of the company, but also a New, first-timer manager. I asked him about the First Aid room but he let me speak with the managers where in the first place, it is his responsibility. I needed to run all the way to the site if someone fainted or injured as he can not give me first aiders. I was fed up, and since I am just waiting for my termination request, I just gave up. (by giving up means not exerting effort to provide a better health care),I was really tired of this project, but just when i gave up Antappan arrived in the site.
I could not imagine anyone else to handle that site with me but Antappan. I worked with him before in previous site, and I can say that he knows what he is doing. My work in Sheraton became easier, still tiring, but easier and happier.
But not only that he helped me with the work, He is also one of my Shoulder to cry on (as in literally). I can't remember how many times I cried in front of him. (What can i say, I'm emotional haha). and just by him giving me time to be a cry baby, helped me feel secured that everything will be fine. Thanks bro, I hope that if I will be assigned again on a renovation project, I wish to work with you again.
RAJNIKANT TIWARI
Since my manager can not give me assistant, I took the initiative to talk to one foreman if he could give me one of his carpenter, and so then i met Rajnikant Tiwari. After taining him of basic first aid, he became my assistant. His willingness to learn more made him very dear to me, that is why I helped him to make his salary higher. He was very competent enough that I can leave him in the First Aid Room alone and manage the cases. I can go to the mall for hours without worries haha Shukriya Bhai, apka accha jadda hai. (Thanks brother, you are very very good).
RUTH VALDEZ-PARAYNO
When you have a friend that is as close as your own sibling, you wont hesitate to confide with them. I am so grateful that even with distance, I have someone to talk with, who will tell me her honest opinions about everything. Best Friends doesn't really mean someone you talk to regularly. They are the ones who you'll think of when you are in need. Thanks BFF. See you soon!
JEN RAGASA
I cant begin where to start with Jen. hmmm . I am so grateful that even we are complete strangers with each other, She really helped me a lot this year. Here's one thing, It was so hard for me to make friends with Filipinos abroad, hell it's true. I just find them all arrogant and self-centered. But Jen re-invert me, she brought back my faith in pinoys. She was nice and very kind. She helped me with everything she could help me with. Even though I didn't get what i wanted, I would still want to say Thank you Jen, for helping me not to give up, for doing all the possible things to keep me in UCC. I will be forever grateful. I wish you good luck and God bless to your future endeavors.
HAMADA AL KURDE
In contrary, It's easy for me to make friends with other nationalities. I find them nicer, and more approachable. and this dude here is such a teddy bear haha I already worked with Hamada in Wajba before but we aren't close before. Even with his huge built, he is a baby. He is very sweet and very emotional. He is very nice not only to me, but also to Hazel, to Anneza and Fahad. He also help me with the problem on my release. He is a friend to keep., Thanks Hamada!
JAN MAY JOSUE- CABRERA
What i love about Jan May is her positive outlook in life. In a way, It inspires me to look at things on their brighter side. If she loves me and cares for me, everyone can tell :)Thank you for all the love, and thank you for making me feel trustworthy. I hope you know that whenever you need me, I may not be there as soon as possible, but i will still be there.
FAHAD TIMAN ALI and ANNEZA ALI
These two are like my own siblings by blood . With our busy schedules, we still manage to go out at least once in two weeks. Fahad is the younger brother of Anneza. When I am anxious, All I need to do is to go to their house, have a chat with them and I will feel better. Talking to Fahad is like talking with a young boy, full of enthusiasms and positivity and his enthusiasm is very contagious. Parang walang problema lagi kaya masarap kausap. Well, Anneza as you all know, have been helping me through out my stay here in Doha.Her generosity still doesn't change that is why she is very blessed too. I am forever grateful for them. They became my second family here, and living in this miserable place with them,plus my wife, is not so miserable after all :) 
ABDAIN BARABADAN
Just what i have mentioned above, It was hard for me to be friends with Pinoy. But thanks to Lee, i was able to open up. When i met Abda, he was a silent type, the typical "only talk when asked". but on September i got a chance to know him better. sobrang bait. I know any every one will agree. His kindness is exhilarating. Kahit hindi sabihin, magkukusa. Thank you pre, hindi lamang sa pag hatid sakin everyday kundi sa pagkakaibigan din. kaya hirap na hirap ako umalis sa site natin dahil sa inyo hehe

And because i am more open to talk with Filipinos, I was able to bond with these people. We became closer because of our hatred to one person haha but aside from that, They have individual impacts in my life. My work, even tiring, became more exciting because everyday i will see the freaking faces of this people. They were sort of my strength and motivation to come to work, but if one of them is absent, I want to absent too., haha thanks guys for the friendship.this was hell of a year sa ating lahat.

LEAN RAY MALLARI
He is kind and nice, sweet and obedient, Industrious, soft-hearted, empathic, committed to work, responsible, people-centered, thrift, clean, slim, helpful, yeah.. nearly a saint.
Oh Shit, Si Lean Mallari ba? Sorry, Pakidelete yun mga sinabi ko, Ibang tao yun,. hahaha
Lean influenced me so much about everything be it on negative or positive ways haha. I remembered when we were in the reception area of our site, He would greet everyone as if he knows them all. Well, I'm the complete opposite, I will just smile or nod. then maybe he noticed me, and he whispered "pre bumati ka naman". That's when i realized that, yeah, maybe i just need to loosen up a little bit to fellow pinoys. It was just that I got traumatized from my previous site, that when i greet them, they will not greet back, so i said never will i greet again. So yeah, he brought my faith back to my countrymen. Trying hard, I greet every filipino i pass by.
He also advised me to take a NEBOSH course so as to increase my salary. And because he is tech-freak, I was able to let go of my IPhone 4s and bought the latest of the iphone. We are both vocal on our opinions, just that mine is a bit controlled, his is very candid. He says what he wants to say. He would candidly say you're ugly, or you're mabaho or describing someone with their infirmities like Panot, or itim, haha kaya minsan kahit ako nahahawa na sa kanya. yeah, you're right. Typical high school bully. hahah
But seriously, It is fun to have Lean in the workplace. It's so fun to have someone who have the same views on almost everything. The way we both hated our jobs specifically. To everyone, he is just a happy, smiling,and strong person, but when i knew him even longer, deep inside he is vulnerable too. I know, because i see myself on him. The only difference is i let loose of my emotion. But him, his strength is very adorable.
I will be forever grateful pre, for all the things you have done for me this year. Thank you, for not just being "Lean my colleague" but "Lean, my friend" and this just becomes too awkward now so I need to end here haha.
